CLÉMENT MARX
Clément Marx is a French perfumer known for blending technical skill with creative intuition. Born on the island of Corsica and raised in the south of France near Grasse—the cradle of perfumery—he developed an early fascination with scent, from his mother’s cooking to the lavender fields of the Luberon that surrounded his family’s home. At 18 he decided to pursue perfumery professionally, initially studying engineering before moving into fragrance creation. After graduating as a mining engineer in Albi, he deepened his scent education in England, gaining direct experience with consumers before returning to France. There he joined Robertet’s perfumery school in Grasse and later trained in Paris with master perfumers such as Jean-François Latty and Michel Almairac, ultimately becoming a junior perfumer working between Paris and New York.
Marx’s signature style harmonises natural raw materials with modern accords, crafting fragrances that are expressive, balanced and emotionally resonant. His portfolio spans a diverse range of creations for brands like Bon Parfumeur, Boucheron, Jimmy Choo, Lalique, Maison Nomad Noé, Heretic and Régime des Fleurs, demonstrating versatility from vibrant floral to rich woody compositions. He is known for his ability to translate narrative and mood into scent, creating perfumes that feel both contemporary and deeply personal.
