Bois Flotté evokes a soothing voyage, inspired by driftwood shaped by sea and time. Perfumer Jean-Christophe Herault captures its weathered character through moist woody facets, salty notes, and spice, reflecting surfaces both polished and rough. This woody spicy eau de parfum opens with turmeric leaf, Coolwood, and fleur de sel. Cashmeran, patchouli, and cedar form the heart, while vetiver, guaiac wood, and sandalwood create an intensely woody base. Nutmeg, Solarys, and black pepper enrich the interpretation of driftwood’s colour and texture. The flacon’s glass reflections enhance light, revealing the brilliance of the fragrance within.

“Bois Flotté, a true invitation to travel, inspired this creation. I explored its hue—somewhere between light brown and silvery gray—using Coolwood, a compound with damp, woody notes, paired with nutmeg and turmeric leaves. For the texture, I captured the erosion caused by sea spray with salty notes, the polished quality with Solarys, and the roughness with black pepper essence.
